My name is Brett and it's a pleasure to meet you!
Personally, I'm a self-taught artist who spends most of his free time making western-inspired pulp art and screen prints, while keeping up with Kansas City's robust professional and amateur sports teams. Fun fact: I spent five consecutive birthdays at Kauffman Stadium in the 90's, it's in my blood.
Professionally, I work as a social director at BarkleyOKRP - an indie ad agency with their roots firmly planted in KC's historic Crossroads District. In my role I get to touch all kinds of things; from social strategy development to on-the-scene social shoots, reviewing edits for paid media campaigns and visualizing annual reporting data, I've done it all.
My current client roster includes Marco's Pizza, Metro by T-Mobile, US Bank, Dole Fruit Cups and more. Previously, I oversaw social for Planet Fitness (won two CLIOs), Taco John's (ate a thousand tacos) and VisitFlorida (touched a million grains of sand). Pitch work, new business sprints and annual client planning make up the rest of my day.
I have two small children, Charlie and Daphne, and try to make date night happen weekly with my wife, Tessa. They're the reason this entire portfolio exists. Charlie is an expert coder and Daphne knows SEO like the back of her hand.
I pride myself on my superpower: marrying the strategy and the creative acumen into one cohesive relationship. I started working professionally in social back in 2011, when I interned a Storenvy, an at-the-time Etsy competitor that offered free digital storefronts to indie creators. Since then I've worked with startups, indie creators, artists, entrepreneurs, agencies, Fortune 500 companies and everything in between.
I'm always eager to meet new people, so please, drop me a line or give me a follow, I'd be excited to connect.
